School magazine analysis
Here we have the St.Angela's School magazine, The first thing we notice about the magazine is it's front cover as it stands out with it's bright colour theme of orange and yellow and white. In a way this is a bad idea because even though these colours are very appealing, smacking them against a dull background kinda undermines the whole image. Another obvious feature is the big, bold masthead "Angels" which is appropriate since it relates to the schools's original name "St.Angela's". Something that works well with the image is the headline "Survival guide for GCSE Technology" because of it's reference to the student on the front cover who is holding Technology equipment and it wearing a Technology apron which shows that the thing that the magazine is trying to represent is accurate. Further more, the sell lines are more approachable to the audience of secondary school students by adding in entertainment "Towie, Bieber, Lil Twist" bringing up the latest trends of the year 2011 along with the banner exclaiming winning of "topshop vouchers, albums" etc, yet again bringing entertainment and involving the aim of teenagers who like fashion and music. Overall the front cover signifies that the content of the magazine will involve information and entertainment for the target audience which is for 11-15 years.

Bleach Neo Magazine front cover analysis
This magazine is called "NEO". This magazine targets
the audience of Japanese Anime and Manga or Asian film fans of any gender. This
is unique since NEO is the only UK Anime, Manga and Asian film magazine.
The masthead of this magazine is always the same apart from various
colour changes in each issue released. The colours remain bold and simple and
so it’s easy to catch the eye of readers. The main cover line is "Bumper
coverage! Characters & Story Arcs Bleach". This will attract the main
target audience because it is a popular Anime and Manga. The cover line is
showing that the main article inside is about "Bleach". It makes you
want to read it since it might tell you more about the anime and the backdrop
of the storyline.
Also there are a lot of other cover lines which are not the
main attraction. These are “Sell Lines” and they are there to sell information
about the inside articles e.g. "MCM Expo Cosplay. NEO's winners revealed!”
The font used on the magazine cover is Sans Serif. This is
basic text which makes the magazine more informal which makes it easier to read
unlike a newspaper which uses Serif which is used in formal newspapers. Also
another font used is Japanese Writing. This targets the main audience of Anime
and Manga fans because it originates from Japan. The main colours used on this issue are yellow, white and orange.
These bright colours attract the reader. The orange links to the anime
"Bleach" because the main character has orange hair which every fan
will recognise. Also the word "Bleach" is large to emphasise what the
magazine is about this issue.
